Unique Hue Data for Colour Appearance Models. Part II: Chromatic Adaptation Transform
نویسندگان
چکیده
Unique hue settings of 185 observers under three room-lighting conditions were used to evaluate the accuracy of full and mixed chromatic adaptation transform models of CIECAM02 in terms of unique hue reproduction. Perceptual hue shifts in CIECAM02 were evaluated for both models with no clear difference using the current Commission Internationale de l’Éclairage (CIE) recommendation for mixed chromatic adaptation ratio. Using our large dataset of unique hue data as a benchmark, an optimised parameter is proposed for chromatic adaptation under mixed illumination conditions that produces more accurate results in unique hue reproduction. 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Unique Hue Data for Colour Appearance Models. Part III: Comparison with NCS Unique Hues
In this study, Swedish Natural Color System (NCS) unique hue data were used to evaluate the performance of unique hue predictions by the CIECAM02 colour appearance model. The colour appearance of 108 NCS unique hue stimuli was predicted using CIECAM02, and their distributions were represented in a CIECAM02 ac–bc chromatic diagram. The best-fitting line for each of the four unique hues was found...
متن کاملSpectral Sharpening and the Bradford Transform
The Bradford chromatic adaptation transform, empirically derived by Lam [1], models illumination change. Specifically, it provides a means of mapping XYZs under a reference source to XYZs for a target light such that the corresponding XYZs produce the same perceived colour. One implication of the Bradford chromatic adaptation transform is that colour correction for illumination takes place not ...
متن کاملHuman Colour Vision: 2. Colour Appearance and Cortical Transformations
Four terms (red, green, yellow, and blue) are necessary and sufficient to describe the appearance of hue. Parvo cells of the LGN respond maximally to modulation along either an S-(L+M) or an L-M axis, but few cells are tuned to intermediate directions. These axes do not correspond to the colour appearance axes. Colour appearance requires at least one more stage of processing, a stage that trans...
متن کاملComputing chromatic adaptation
Most of today’s chromatic adaptation transforms (CATs) are based on a modified form of the von Kries chromatic adaptation model, which states that chromatic adaptation is an independent gain regulation of the three photoreceptors in the human visual system. However, modern CATs apply the scaling not in cone space, but use “sharper” sensors, i.e. sensors that have a narrower shape than cones. Th...
متن کاملHue-saturation-density (HSD) model for stain recognition in digital images from transmitted light microscopy.
BACKGROUND Transmitted light microscopy is used in pathology to examine stained tissues. Digital image analysis is gaining importance as a means to quantify alterations in tissues. A prerequisite for accurate and reproducible quantification is the possibility to recognise stains in a standardised manner, independently of variations in the staining density. METHODS The usefulness of three colo...
